We are rethinking custom yacht equipment. A key aspect of the thought that goes into every product we manufacture is, “could this be less harmful to the environment,” and “is this better quality than what’s currently available on the market?” The answers to these questions led us to our new fender covers, which are better quality and less impactful to the environment.
Shipyard Supply USA fender covers are made with polypropylene fabric. This fabric is formed from a combination of recycled water bottles and recyclable plastics. The fabric is a 50-year plastic that is biodegradable and will begin to dissolve after 50 years, long after it’s needed on your vessel. This material takes ten times less to dissolve than traditional oil-based plastics, which are currently wreaking havoc on the environment and can take up to 500 years to biodegrade.
